Renewals

If you are up for renewal the jist of if involves the following line of the MSP CPL Guide (PDF) -

For an individual licensed after July 1, 2001, and subsequently applying for a renewal, completion of a pistol safety training course is not required. However, the applicant shall sign the statement on the application certifying that he or she has completed at least 3 hours of review of the pistol safety training course and has had at least 1 hour of firing range time in the 6 months immediately preceding the renewal application.

We offer free renewals for those who have taken our CPL Course. You would only need to participate for the lecture portion of our course unless you haven't shot your firearm within the last six months. Our standard renewal/refresher rate is $35 for law/lecture, $65 for law/lecture with range time.

Traveling

Car

Be sure the state of origin and destination is legal; in any states in between that do not honor your CPL you must unload and case  your firearm so it is not easily accessible to you or other passengers (put in trunk).

Plane

Check with your airlines, you must DECLARE your firearm and check-in and secure in "check-in" luggage.

Train or Bus

Similar to traveling by car/plane, check with your transportation company first.

Out of the Country

Generally not allowed, but you need both exportation from the U.S. and compliance with any country laws you’re traveling to.  BE CAREFUL AS ANY MISTAKE CAN LAND YOU IN A FOREIGN PRISON.
